Chemical Peel in Monroe, LA and Southlake, TX

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that help with certain types of skin conditions, such as acne, wrinkles, sun spots, and other problems. Dr. Janine Hopkins, M.D., F.A.A.D., board-certified dermatologist, offers chemical peels for men and women in Monroe, Alexandria, Shreveport, the Ark-La-Miss, Southlake, TX and the surrounding areas of Northeast Louisiana.

What Are Chemical Peels?

Dr. Hopkins may recommend a chemical peel to improve your skin. These treatments use certain types of acids to penetrate the skin and remove damaged layers. The acids are like those found in consumer products, but at higher levels.

How Much Do Chemical Peels Cost in Monroe, LA?

The cost of a chemical peel is based upon the nature of the peel (light, medium, or deep). Dr. Hopkins determines which type of peel is best for you during the appointment.  Your personal treatment plan will determine costs and they will be discussed before treatments are begun.

What Are the Benefits of Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are used to treat:

  • Dull complexion
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Rough skin
  • Uneven pigmentation

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

Hopkins Dermatology offers chemical peels with SkinMedica® Rejuvenize Peel™ and laser peels. Based upon your skin type, Dr. Hopkins recommends the option that is best for you. Both approaches allow Dr. Hopkins to control how deep the treatment does into your skin. One benefit of the laser peel over the SkinMedica® peel is that it stimulates collagen production.

What Should I Expect from Chemical Peels?

Prior to the peel being applied to your skin, we cleanse the area to remove makeup, oils, and other impurities. The acid solution is applied to the skin and allowed to remain for a specific amount of time. A neutralizing agent stops the peeling process. You may have some downtime after your chemical peel based upon the depth to which the chemicals penetrate. We can provide aftercare instruction prior to the procedure.
