What is Tattoo Removal?
Laser tattoo removal is the latest advancement in procedures to remove unwanted ink from the body. You may have tried some of the commercially available products that fade or hide your tattoo, but laser tattoo removal is a permanent solution rather than a temporary fix.
How Much Does Tattoo Removal Cost in Monroe, LA?
Pricing for tattoo removal is based upon the size of your tattoo and the types of pigments and colors. Because these factors vary by patient, Dr. Hopkins discusses cost after she examines your tattoo.
What Are the Benefits of Laser Tattoo Removal?
- Works on all pigment colors
- No downtime
- Safely destroys the pigments in the skin
- No scarring
How Does Tattoo Removal Work?
Hopkins Dermatology offers laser tattoo removal with the Fotona StarWalker® system that uses the patented Fractat™ technology. The system works by fractioned settings that are used for several passes over the tattoo. This creates a chimney pattern in the skin. In the next step of the process, multiple wavelengths are used to target each pigment color, such as blues, greens, reds, blacks, yellows, and oranges. This technology allows for a faster clearance of tattoo pigments, and several colors can be removed in a single session.
What Should I Expect from Laser Tattoo Removal?
Prior to your tattoo removal, we numb your skin with Stratamed®, a liquid silicone that acts like an invisible skin. The medication also helps the skin heal while preventing infection. You can absolutely apply makeup over the Stratamed®. After preparing the skin, we use the StarWalker® handpiece to administer the laser energy. We then apply the laser energy in short bursts until the pigment is removed. Dr. Hopkins may prescribe medications to aid with healing and recovery.
